The following requests, subject to the amendment of the constitution, were proposed by the National CONFAB committee:
Apa State from the present Benue, Kainji from Niger State, Katagum from Bauchi State, Savannah State from Borno, Amana from Adamawa, Ghari from Kano, Gurara from Kaduna, Etiti State from the South-East zone, Aba from Abia, Adada from Enugu, Njaba/Anim from both Anambra and Imo States, Ogoja from Cross River, Anioma from Delta, Ijebu from Ogun, New Oyo from the present Oyo State and unnamed others.
Hmmm...
'States and Capital' reading would be more difficult for kids now. :-)
On a serious note, is this actually creation of more states? Or creation of more power seats? More means of corruption?
O yes! More governors! More deputies! More traditional rulers paid with tax-payer's money! More Local Govt Chairmen! More Ministers! Better medium of corruption!! More division among Nigerians!!!!!
I'm wondering why creation of Ijebu State should even be mentioned. Or, Anioma from Delta State. Infact, let's divide into countries! Mstchw!!
For those thinking it would bring development, you are thinking wrong.
Bayelsa State was created from Rivers State. Have you visited that state since then? Have there been any significant developments? Hmmm... Most streets there don't have names. No 'legit' bus-stops! And, someone somewhere is saying we should have more states.
If these states are finally approved..., believe me you, within a year there would be unrest in some parts of this country. #QuoteMe!
